From the second you started school, you heard about the seemingly all important senior actor showcase. In fact, to this day many people choose their school based on whether or not it has a showcase. Now schools are showcasing in LA, NY, Chicago and DC amongst many other cities and adult actors well out of school are paying good money to participate in similar opportunities. The import that’s put on them is ruining careers before they even have a chance to start.
One interesting challenge with the work we have created is trying to connect it to an artist’s mind, heart and subsequent future. Artists carry the weight of the world on their shoulders as we look to explore so many stories through humor, pain, love, Plays, Songs, Paintings, and the list goes on and on.
Many people rush to the movies when they fancy a night out, or to a restaurant for a bite to eat. These are the ‘go to’ places for a date, or just a night out on the town. However, if you’re looking for an enticing alternative, going to the theatre is a great way to spend your evening.
Have you ever felt overwhelmed with how many things you need to do and there is just not enough hours in a day? Looking at next week hoping it will be an eight-day week rather than seven? Hands up, I am one of this people! Learning how to say no to things have been a bloody hard journey for me. I think learning how to say no and prioritise yourself is something that applies to both full-timers and freelancers.
The season was over and not a moment too soon. Dubai’s ‘event season’ is roughly October – May. Anything outside of that is just too damn hot so the country goes completely quiet and the expats of the events and entertainment industry all tend to flock to cooler climates or home to see loved ones.
