The Savoy Theatre is going to be so fetch with the new casting for Mean Girls West End debut. While the show is currently touring North America, the plastics get to be the centre of attention across the pond in London’s West End. The show is originally based on the 2004 film featuring Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams, with book writer Tina Fey who featured in the original film.
Some of the best known musicals coming to the UK in 2024 are new and returning fan favourites. A portion of these musicals are transfers from Broadway in New York but there are a few that will be making their world premiere with their sights set high.
In the weeks following the Tony Awards on June 9th, Broadway has seen the closing of many of shows: King Lear, Network (June 9), Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus (June 16), Hilary & Clinton (June 23), All My Sons, Kiss Me Kate (June 30) and The Ferryman, My Fair Lady, Ink (July 7). In the coming weeks they will be joined by, Be More Chill, The Prom, What the Constitution Means to Me, Frankie & Johnny…, Cher, Pretty Woman and King Kong! Thousands of people have enjoyed these shows; however, they will soon be gone.
As a swing, each track has its own mental and physical preparation, as well as challenges that differ from track to track. I cover seven male ensemble tracks in Mean Girls and each of the performers who play these roles are insanely talented, all the while making eight shows a week look seamless.
