Concluding this awards season, the 96th academy awards had multiple show stopping moments and unsurprisingly had several Kens. While Jimmy Kimmel played host to the Oscars again for the fourth time, other fan favourites made appearances and brought up old jokes that were thought forgotten to time. There was even a minor Batman reunion.
Last Saturday was the 30th Annual SAG Awards and there were reunions and smiles everywhere, even for devils who wear Prada. The film Oppenheimer is now favourable to do well at the Oscars, while Barbie stars were left bewildered why they were left behind in a male dominated industry again.
As I was recently reading a book, they mentioned a lyric from a song by the Smiths. The lyric goes ‘I wear black on the outside/ ‘Cause black is how I feel on the inside’. It instantly struck me. With all the recent discussions and invitations on insight to mental health in the theatrical and entertainment industry, I pondered a question: If we weren’t constantly wearing black on the outside, would we still feel black on the inside?
