Globally known for multiple roles, it’s no question why they were chosen to present this year’s nominations. The Tony Award is Broadway’s biggest honour to achieve and there are several stellar nominees in the mix who are up for the award.
Disney’s Hercules
Welcome to the European theatrical stage, Disney’s Hercules! The latest stage adaptation for Disney’s 1997 animated film has officially opened in Hamburg, Germany as of 24 March. After having a first look, it’s great to see so much of the original score has been kept and a great cast has been chosen for their adopted roles.
Coldplay Releases Sustainability Report
The British pop band Coldplay releases sustainability report, and they are the first band ever in the world to do so! This band that has been on pop charts for the last 20 years voluntarily produced their sustainability report after the band set out to reduce their carbon emissions by half. While out on their latest tour, the band has nearly done just that.
Common Thespian Terms
Some common thespian terms that almost everyone in the theatrical and live events industry knows are great to have in your vocabulary if you want to get a foot in the door. Some of these term are more technically inclined while others are used more commonly by performers. Either way, these terms are heard throughout any stage of careers by those in the live events industry.
The World’s 1st Hologram Circus Performed in Germany in 2019
Since the Nineteen Nineties, the German Circus Roncalli began phasing out using wild animals in their shows. However, thanks to modern technology, they were still able to create amazing animal performances without mistreating innocent creatures. Circus Roncalli began incorporating massive animal holograms into their shows. Which, in many ways, are just as spellbinding to look at as the traditional live animal performances.

‘Tiger on Eiger’ by Swiss Artist to Celebrate Chinese New Year
In January, the Swiss light artist Gerry Hofstetter and his team projected a tiger onto the north face of the Eiger. The aim was to congratulate Asia on the New Year, the year of the tiger, which began on February 1, 2022. At the same time, Gerry Hofstetter wanted to use the strong symbolism of the tiger to motivate all athletes at the upcoming Winter Olympics in Beijing. The projection Tiger on Eiger is 5.3 km long and over 2 km high.
Viva Frida Kahlo – World Premiere of Immersive Experience in Zurich
For the next few weeks, Frida Kahlo is the illustrious guest at Zurich’s newly established MAAG Light Hall. In fact, the immersive exhibition has been such a success thus far that it has been extended to run until 27th of February 2022. This unique exhibition of Frida Kahlo’s work is a world premiere, full of accessible symbolism and colourful exotic plants and animals, as well as a series of powerful self-portraits.

E-hui, Independent Lighting Designer and Digital Stage Technician
E-hui is an independent lighting designer and digital stage technician currently based in Singapore. She creates art mostly in theatre and dance, and more recently theatre for young audiences. Passionate about the melding of art and science in theatrical production, E-hui often approaches artistic creation from a practical and problem-solving perspective, and especially loves to collaborate with like-minded artists to produce works that inspire the audience to reflect and enact positive change.
