The Ensemblist and TheatreArtLife got together to find out which Broadway cast members are not from the USA. In this International Cast on Broadway Series, we talk to those who have come from all corners of the world to perform in NYC.  We ask them about their work, their life and the path they took to living the Broadway dream. This is Ashley Andrews from the UK and he is currently Dance Captain, Swing and Resident Choreographer for King Kong and soon to be the Associate Choreographer on the US Tour of Jesus Christ Super Star.

In the weeks following the Tony Awards on June 9th, Broadway has seen the closing of many of shows: King Lear, Network (June 9), Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus (June 16), Hilary & Clinton (June 23), All My Sons, Kiss Me Kate (June 30) and The Ferryman, My Fair Lady, Ink (July 7). In the coming weeks they will be joined by, Be More Chill, The Prom, What the Constitution Means to Me, Frankie & Johnny…, Cher, Pretty Woman and King Kong! Thousands of people have enjoyed these shows; however, they will soon be gone.

The women of King Kong on Broadway spend a lot of time together. Our show is spent either onstage or squeezed into a backstage dressing gondola that makes a cramped East Village studio seem palatial. There’s no escaping each other. Fortunately, we’re a silly bunch and we’ve really embraced the absurdity of our setup.

King Kong On Broadway: Meet 2 Of The Puppeteers

Even before it welcomes its first audience, King Kong is proving itself a massive Broadway mounting. The production features a 2,000-pound, 20-foot puppet as its titular character.
