Challenging Comfort Zones and Embracing Life’s Potential
I want you to take a moment to consider a what-if scenario. It’s not meant to be fear inducing. It’s really more of a realignment or a tune-up so that we can continue to move forward in connection with our values, our purpose and ourselves. So often we go through life just getting by, going […]

From Scarcity to Abundance & the Power of Soup
Every so often I make soup. I don’t follow a recipe and the soups I make are never the same. More often than not, the goal is not so much to make soup, as it is to clean out the fridge. And yet, each time I do it, as the ingredients start to simmer and […]
How Are Your Perceptions Limiting Your Life?
I’ve been thinking a lot about perceptions and how we perceive things and I just wanted to come on in a kind of unscripted way and touch base with you all about how we’re looking at things. You know, there’s a thing in art called forced perspective, which artists use in order to direct our […]

Taking the Pressure Off of Flow
There has been an entire industry developed around flow. The word that once described a quality of movement – has become a movement, in a stressed-out world, desperate to find meaning and life purpose – a “raison d’etre”. I think it would be fair to say that most of us consider flow to be a […]

Why the Best Self-Producers Live to Multi Task
One of the built-in protections offered by our chaotic lives and structureless jobs is their ability to shield us from taking on too many things at a time. In a sense, because our days can feel so flux and unpredictable, we’re usually forced to narrow our focus and fasten our attention on a single task to stay sane. This can be a powerful and protective silver lining: Can you imagine producing a short film, doing an off-Broadway play, and facilitating a regular script-reading club all at the same time? Hard pass.
From Struggling To Thriving Artist
Is it possible to change from a struggling to thriving artist? A New Theatre Yearly Season
The theatre/entertainment world was hit the hardest during the pandemic. For the most part by the summer of 2020 many industries were able to pivot and crate new and different ways to continue to work. The theatre and entertainment world, the most creative industry, oddly enough did not find any new creative ways to produce theatre or entertainment in this climate. The thing about change is that it not only helps you succeed in a time of crisis, it helps you to create additional options once the crisis is over. Unfortunately, the theatre world has yet to create a new way of creating performing arts. This article is not a critical one that will criticize the industry, instead this will give the theatre and entertainment world a new idea on creating theatre.

Artists: Working Through Your Privilege
Artists are inherently self absorbed because we’re innately aware of our product being an outsource of who we are. And in some arts industries it only intensifies. The inherent ego mixed with the fantasy of what we’re often expecting from our futures leaves us with a whole lot of hidden privilege that we didn’t even know was lurking.
Creative Productivity: 7 Days is a Long Time
While our work is about working towards professional goals and understanding industry standards, at the outset we always spend a great deal of time trying to understand how that happens from a time management, structural perspective. To start with, simply identifying how many hours a week you have to dedicate to your work can be very revealing.
The Art Of Giving To Help Your Business
I’m often asked about my number one key piece of advice for creative entrepreneurs, and while it’s obviously (you guessed it) to create some sort of plan, my usual second is to give often and freely. Give advice. Give gifts. Give time. Give shared resources. Give of yourself.
