The World’s First DriveINSIDE COVID compliant Theatre has been setup in Manchester’s Trafford Centre. Providing a marquee to shelter from the infamous British weather, the venue can welcome 800 visitors by car and is host to an array of upcoming events, as well as being available for private hire.
DriveINSIDE visitors for events need to buy tickets on the ticketing platform, and that e-tickets will have your car space number. They suggest an arrival time 90 minutes pre performance (visitors are only permitted to arrive by car), and are greeted by ‘Drive Jockeys’ upon arrival. They will then guide you into pre parking lanes and any pre ordered goods will be passed to you whilst you are in these lanes. The ‘Drive Jockeys’ assist with parking to the dedicated parking space underneath the largest marquee in Europe.
Visitors can only leave the vehicle on the driver’s side but will have their own socially distanced isolated area to enjoy. As such, they suggest that any passengers with a mobility problem sit in the rear of their vehicle behind the driver. A contactless waiter to bonnet service is managed by APP, while toilets are controlled by a traffic light system to minimise crowding and queuing.
The venue is Covid compliant as it maintains two meter controlled social distancing, offers an isolated viewing area per vehicle that can contain up to four folding seats per area. As the theatre is Europe’s largest ‘megatent’, they recommend bringing warm clothing and blankets, as it is an unenclosed auditorium to maintain ventilation. Events are fully licensed with catering available.
Events at The Trafford Centre new theatre kick off on 13th March, and consist of theatre, music, family friendly shows and competitions, covering a broad range of entertainment for all ages and interests.
