The Savoy Theatre is going to be so fetch with the new casting for Mean Girls West End debut. While the show is currently touring North America, the plastics get to be the centre of attention across the pond in London’s West End. The show is originally based on the 2004 film featuring Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams, with book writer Tina Fey who featured in the original film.
The West End premiere of Mean Girls will call class into session on 6 June this summer and is currently running until 16 February next year. This is already a good sign for the upcoming musical as this is the first extension announcement as well. Leading the Tina Fey high school primitive musical is Charlie Burn as Cady Heron. Her acting credits include the Disney100 UK tour and Les Miserables. The apex predator plastics are Elèna Gyasi as Gretchen Wieners and Grace Mouat as Karen Smith with Georgina Castle portraying the unmistakable Regina George. Elèna Gyasi has been in SIX and Treason The Musical. Grace Mouat also worked on SIX as well as & Juliet. Georgina Castle has recently been in Dirty Dancing, Elf The Musical, and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella.
But what’s the popular kids without the outcasts? Best known for her roles in Les Miserables and Kinky Boots, Janis will be given extra amounts of sass by Elena Skye. The lovable almost too gay to function Damian will be played by Tom Xander. Tom has been seen lately in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream but is perhaps best known for his recent role in The Book of Mormon where he made his debut on the West End and was a standby for the role of Elder Cunnigham. As captain of the mathletes, Lucca Chadwick-Patel will be Kevin G. While he recently announced his new role, he is also newer to the West End in London with his role in Mamma Mia. Sitting at the other end of the cafeteria from the outcasts and mathletes are the boys we wish we could love, the heartthrobs. Who better to play such a role than Daniel Bravo? His heartthrob days continue from London’s recent Cruel Intentions and Witness for the Prosecution.
The reign begins this Summer. If you want to sit with us, book your tickets and don’t forget…on Wednesdays, we wear pink.
Zoë Rainey will continue to steal the stage as none other than Ms. Norbury. She has acting credits from the film industry including Disney’s live action Beauty and the Beast, and Death on the Nile, but her stage credits include Made In Dagenham and Kiss Me Kate. The only one above any teacher is of course the principal who will be played by Ako Mitchell. Perhaps now best known for his role in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, he was most recently on stage during his role of Mister in the UK tour of The Colour Purple.
