West End Live Weekend Part 2

West End Live

Since it’s inception in 2005, West End Live has grown into a full weekend for theatre fans everywhere to experience performances from some of their favourite shows. Some shows that have closed over the years or are still up and coming for the West End are always presented as well.

This is the line up of the Weekend as well as the Cast members that performed:

Sunday, June 18:

Heathers The Musical- 2 sets of Heathers performed “Candy Store” Olivia Barnett-Leigh and Georgia Anderson played Chandler, Kia-Paris Walcott and Georgia Iudica-Davies played Duke, and Carly Burns and Bibi Jay played McNamara.

42nd Street- The entire cast was welcomed early on stage as they tapped to a medley of songs from the Tony Award winning musical.

Idiots Assemble: Spitting Image The Musical- If you don’t enjoy puppets, humour, and having a laugh at the Royal Family, then this show is not for you.

We Will Rock You- The royal appearances continued as the cast reminded us we all just need “Somebody To Love” with their performance of the smashing hit from Queen.

Back To The Future The Musical- The cast hit 1.21 gigawatts as they performed a medley of songs from the show with all the style of a Delorean.

Lucie Jones- The West End star Lucie Jones performed a heartfelt re-remake of “Part Of Your World.”

Death Note: The Musical- Joaquin Pedro Valdes and Frances Mayli McCann performed two songs from the musical including “I’m Ready” but unfortunately fans will only have two nights to catch this musical London at The London Palladium this upcoming August on the 21st and 22nd.

The Time Traveller’s Wife: The Musical- David Hunter, Joanna Woodward, Tim Mahendran, and Hiba Elchikhe sing harmoniously as they prepare to debut this musical later this year in October at the Apollo Theatre.

The Choir Of Man- The entire cast was greeted on stage for their third year in a row for the West End Live weekend as they quickly turned the stage into a bar fight.

Showstopper: The Improvised Musical- Showcasing the musical’s title song, the entire cast made an appearance while continuing to be hilarious and bring many laughs from the audience. The show is currently touring and will be at London’s Cambridge Theatre until December later this year.

Treason- Touring this Autumn, Bradley Jaden opened for the audience with a belting number followed by one of his co-stars. The show is set to start touring late this October, but has little public information out at the moment.

Babies- Don’t worry no one was actually in diapers for this but they did use bottles as microphones and carry around babydolls… The new(born) British musical debuted their full cast portraying young school-aged children with an upbeat number.

Ride- Having recently released their studio cast recording, the new and upcoming show featuring Live Andrusier and Katy Ellis performed the title song. The show is based on the true story of the first woman who cycled around the world.

The Spongebob Musical- Currently touring, the entire cast made a quick appearance while performing a medley of songs from the show. Anyone who enjoyed the summer vibes, cool ocean breeze, and fond memories of the children’s show is going to remind you who lives in a pineapple under the sea with Lewis Cornay as SpongeBob, Irfan Damani as Patrick, Chrissie Bhima as Sandy.
