The Paul McCartney Got Back Tour kicked off with fireworks that included a virtual duet with the late John Lennon, as well as a moving tribute to bandmate George Harrison. The Beatle last played live in 2019 due to the pandemic cancelling planned dates since then, with McCartney announcing, “I said at the end of the last tour that I’d see you next time. I said I was going to get back to you. Well, I got back!”
The first performance of the current tour ticked off in Spokane, Washington on 28th May. After such a hiatus, there were big expectations for the show, which promises to give audiences a memorable experience:

Paul and his band have performed in an unparalleled range of venues and locations throughout the Americas, the UK, Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and all points between: outside the Coliseum in Rome, Moscow’s Red Square, Buckingham Palace, The White House, a free show in Mexico for over 400,000 people, the last ever show at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park where The Beatles played their final concert in 1966, a 2016 week in the California desert that included two headline sets at the historic Desert Trip festival and a jam-packed club gig for a few hundred lucky fans at Pappy & Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace, and even one performance broadcast live into Space! Featuring Paul’s longtime band – Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums) – and constantly upgraded state of the art audio and video technology that ensures an unforgettable experience from every seat in the house, a Paul McCartney concert is never anything short of life-changing.”
There were many highlights to the show, one of which was the performance of I’ve Got A Feeling, which featured John Lennon’s vocal from their iconic rooftop performance.
The ukulele rendition of George Harrison’s Something also captivated the crowd, with McCartney performing the first half of the song on the instrument that had been gifted to him by his former bandmate, while a slideshow of photos played in the background.
The night ended with the legendary ending from the Abbey Road album that consisted of Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End, which went down a storm.
McCartney, who is just shy of turning 80 years old, will also be headlining Glastonbury Festival’s prestigious Saturday night slot this June in the UK, following the rest of the tour is in North America. The full US tour dates are currently listed as:

While no further dates have been announced, we hope to see the band on the run making it to the rest of the world in the near future, with McCartney showing no signs of slowing down just yet.
