Nominees Announced For Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame 2023 TheatreArtLife

The nominees have been announced for 2023 induction into the prestigious Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Fans are able to vote for their favourite musicians from the list over the coming months, with the inductees to be announced in May, and the ceremony to take place in the autumn with full details yet to be announced.

How does the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame process work?

Fans around the world participate in the Induction selection process through the Fan Vote. From now until 28thApril, fans can vote online every day at vote.rockhall.com or in person at the Museum in Cleveland. The top five artists selected by the public will comprise a “fans’ ballot” that will be tallied along with the other ballots to determine the 2023 Inductees.

Nominee ballots will be sent to an international voting body of more than 1,000 artists, historians, and members of the music industry. An artist’s musical impact and influence on other artists, length and depth of career and body of work as well as innovation and superiority in style and technique are taken into consideration.

To be eligible for nomination, an individual artist or band must have released its first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination.

The artists nominated for 2023 are:

  • Kate Bush
  • Sheryl Crow
  • Missy Elliott
  • Iron Maiden
  • Joy Division/New Order
  • Cyndi Lauper
  • George Michael
  • Willie Nelson
  • Rage Against the Machine
  • Soundgarden
  • The Spinners
  • A Tribe Called Quest
