World-renowned film composer Hans Zimmer has announced that he will release a new album, and perform a European tour in 2023. The new music is set to be a double live album titled Hans Zimmer LIVE, with a new single The Last Samurai Suite out now to tease audiences.
Hans Zimmer LIVE
The new release is set to include over two hours’ worth of material, that will feature all-new arrangements of well-loved Zimmer pieces. Recorded over 10 nights during the musician’s 2022 tour in Europe, the reimagining of pieces into new suites has been well received with audiences, taking them on a journey through an impressive catalogue of work spanning Zimmer’s film scores. The German composer explained:
“I simply wanted to produce the best album. I wanted to create an opportunity for the music to breathe a little differently, in its own context. For this adventure, I am thrilled to have been joined by the greatest possible team of collaborators.”
The album is produced by friend and producer Stephen Lipson, is performed by Zimmer’s 20-piece Disruptive Collective band, several collaborators, the Odessa Opera Orchestra and Choir, and Hans also performs himself. The full album is set to be released on 3rd March 2023, and will be available as a digital download, as a 2-CD set, and a limited fun of 4 x 180 vinyl.

In a groundbreaking audio and visual show, the multiple Academy Award® and Grammy winning Zimmer, his band and the Odessa Orchestra will perform the composer’s worldwide successes. The newly arranged concert suites include music from GLADIATOR, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, THE DARK KNIGHT, INTERSTELLAR, THE LION KING, THE LAST SAMURAI and DUNE, for which Zimmer received his second Academy Award® during his previous tour stop in Amsterdam.
Zimmer expressed his anticipation, saying:
“I’m thrilled to return to the stage for another tour in Europe and excited to share this phenomenal show that the band and I are preparing for. I’m grateful to be able to play our music that brings together so many people for a truly unforgettable experience.”
