Renowned virtuoso cellist Yo-Yo Ma is launching a virtual online series studying the music of J.S. Bach. The interactive virtual program features special guests, and runs for eight information-filled weeks, sure to delight cellists everywhere.
The virtual online series
The experience is varied, taking participants on an interesting journey through the music of Bach, and includes eight weeks of rich programming, including four livestream sessions with Yo-Yo Ma, conversations with special guests, and weekly live community discussions.
There will be weekly releases of video episodes featuring Yo-Yo Ma, four rising young cellists, and an audience of co-creators on a collaborative journey through Bach’s six solo suites for cello.
Bonus content will include behind-the-scenes footage, additional interviews and performances by the cellists, and a rarely seen archival recording of Yo-Yo Ma performing Bach’s six solo suites for cello.
The experience includes access to a private community for connection and collaboration with fellow explorers, with dedicated spaces for discussion, week-by-week engagement around the program materials, and special visits from Yo-Yo.

The cello master explained his love for the suites, saying:
