We are asking stage managers around the world, in a stage manager tag, some key questions about their job. Here is Alana Clapp.
1. Are you a minimalist or a hoarder Stage Manager?
Combo! I keep random things longer then I should, but try to do a clean out every 3 months.
2. What do you always have with you on stage?
Headset, radio, notebook, iPad.
3. What’s in your kit?
With my current company, I haven’t had to use a kit in ages, but had fun pulling one together when I needed one for a special project a while ago, lots of athletic tape, rosin and candy!
4. Mac or PC?
PC for me.
5. What’s in your pencil case?
Right now – exactly one #2 pencil, a purple pen and a very old Werther’s Original
6. Favourite colour highlighter
Yellow forever.
7. Favourite pencil
A freshly sharpened #2.
8. What may be surprising that you don’t use?
A script.
9. Coffee or Tea?
1 Coffee in the AM and tea after.
10. Favourite Genre to work in
Circus.
