International Festival of Ancient Greek Drama, Cyprus, Greece
The International Festival of Ancient Greek Drama is a distinct cultural event with an international character. Cyprus will host theatre companies from all over the world to present ancient Greek drama in their own language. Performances bear an intense coloring of the performers’ country and the mosaic that is being created opens a dialogue with contemporary stages and an international audience. The performances are presented in open-air amphitheatres, such as the Ancient Odeon in Paphos, the Curium Ancient Theatre in Limassol and the “Skali” Amphitheatre Aglantzia in Nicosia, during the whole month of July every year.
Bregenz Festival, Austria
The famous opera festival on the world’s largest floating stage is held every year during the summer. George Bizet’s Opera Carmen and a monumental stage setting will bring the flair of Andalusia to the Lake Constance, 18 July to 20 August 2018.
Festival D’Avignon, France
The Avignon Festival is today one of the most important contemporary performing arts events in the world. This massive festival is a big part of the town’s cultural heritage, taking over from July 6-24, 2018. This year is the 72nd annual festival.
New York Musical Festival, USA
The 2018 New York Musical Festival (NYMF) kicks off July 9 and runs through August 5. The 15th annual festival features 12 original musical productions, ten musical readings, eight concerts, and three educational programs—all celebrating musical theatre and new work.
