Chris Massimine is the Managing Director of Pioneer Theatre Company: a LORT institution that serves as the official state theatre of Utah, under the auspices of the University of Utah, at which Chris jointly serves as a senior administrator. In the private sector, Chris is the Founder and Managing Member of Imagine Tomorrow, an international firm, spanning hundreds of partners, founded to shepherd and source capital for creative works in Entertainment+Lifestyle+Tech. Its mission is to develop impactful creative projects that inspire humanity to do good. He is an award-winning producer of theatre, film, television, video games, and music; a two-time Tony Award nominee; business development consultant; and leading arts activist. Current projects include the feature film THE INVENTOR; the theatrical world premiere of RADIO GALAXY, set to premiere in London’s West End; and video games RESIDENT EVIL 8, GOTHAM KNIGHTS, and BIOSHOCK 4. Chris was a consulting producer on the Oscar winning films AMY and 20 FEET FROM STARDOM; a studio producer on WRECK-IT RALPH and RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET, VOX LUX, DOOM ANNIHILATION, DON’T WORRY, HE WON’T GET FAR ON FOOT, among others; ushered in some of the world’s most noteworthy advertising campaigns (including Intel’s “Museum of Me”, Dos Equis’ “The Most Interesting Man in the World”, and kicked off Old Spice’s rebrand with “Scents for Gents”); and was inducted into the PGA Hall of Fame in 2018 for exceptional contributions to new media. He previously served as CEO of National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF), the country’s longest consecutively producing theatre. During his 7-year tenure with NYTF he received the National Theatre Conference’s 2018 Theatre of the Year Award, for his commitment to bridging social and cultural divides through the arts. In 2019, Chris was named National Performing Arts Association’s Humanitarian of the Year. Earlier in the same year, Chris was the arts keynote speaker at the United Nations Civil Society Conference. During his time in New York, Chris served as a special advisor for culture to both the city and state administrations, co-founded the Immigrant Arts Coalition, oversaw Board fundraising as development chair at Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York, and was the driving force behind the universally acclaimed production of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF (in Yiddish). Through his work, Chris is committed to enacting the importance of storytelling as an agent of positive change, igniting vital dialogue, and inspiring future generations. Also, he’s a new father!
