Fanny Coindet, give us your elevator pitch of who you are, what you do and what your skill set is.
After training in dance in Paris, I participated in workshops with Ohad Naharin, Akram Khan, Rambert, Ballet Preljocaj. I completed my comedy training with Philipe Gaulier and Jean Jacques Lemêtre.
I then had contracts in the Parisian scene : Palais des congrès, Théâtre Dejazet, Palais des Sports, Casino de Paris, Théâtre Mogador, and then had opportunities to travel around the world.
In 2012, I joined the company Franco Dragone, in Macao, as a dancer and, from 2014 to 2016, became “Dark Queen”, one of the main characters of The House Of Dancing Water directed by Franco Dragone and choreographed by Giuliano Peparini.
In 2017, I joined Christophe Barratier and Pascal Obispo’s latest creation Jesus de Nazareth à Jerusalem as a dancer.
I’m currently in creation with Jean-Paul Gaultier, Marion Motin and Tonie Marshall as a dancer and one of the characters for the Fashion Freak Show at the Folies Bergère.
In parallel, I have developed my choreographic language, which allows me to work on various projects for theater, film and fashion.
I signed my first choreography with Dear Dolly at Théâtre Galabru and Espace Kiron, then took the direction of a children’s show performed at the Théâtre Marsoulan (Souricolor). I also directed and choreographed several shows at the Comedy Club in Paris (Cours 2 recré, Mise en Sape, Depression Vestimentaire), and films presented at international festivals (C.ontorsion, Modern Walk, B.lindness).
I’m actually writing and directing a show 3025 for E.N.A.C.R., the French national circus school, that will take place in December 2018 in Rosny-sous-Bois.
What is your ideal role?
Being able to work with Jean-Paul Gaultier and Marion Motin at the same time is a dream job. And I am very grateful for all the opportunities in my career that have led me to this moment.

What should TheatreArtLife readers know about you?
That THIS is a very difficult exercise for me!
Where do you find inspiration?
Mostly in the people that I artistically connect with, their energies, skills, qualities inspire me. I also try to go see shows, exhibitions, concerts at least once a week to stay connected to the world.
What motivates you to continue performing/creating?
The process of creation is such a space of time where I feel very alive, being always slightly out of my comfort zone, questioning myself but also raising conciseness and awareness to be able to try to reach the audience.
