SoundGirls Virtual Conference: The All-Inclusive Event In December 2021

SoundGirls Virtual Conference

The SoundGirls Virtual Conference is a two-day event open to all individuals with a passion for audio and music, taking place on 4 – 5 December 2021. Designed for everyone from audio veterans to beginners and students, the Virtual Conference offers programs and presentations from a wide range of women, men, and non-binary professionals in multiple roles and careers, featuring sessions in post-production, recording, live, theater production, broadcast, and more. The Conference also offers networking opportunities with peers and industry professionals. And the SoundGirls Mexico City chapter will present several sessions in Spanish.

About SoundGirls

SoundGirls has long been committed to encouraging and assisting women and under-represented groups with a desire to attain success in the audio industry. SoundGirls exists to provide a support network for women and non-binary people working in the professional audio industry and to assist those with a drive to be successful in audio. Women make up only 5% of the professional workforce in audio and music production. This profession thrives on word of mouth and networking. SoundGirls gives women working in the industry an opportunity to meet and network with other industry professionals, creating a strong support network.

SoundGirls co-founder Karrie Keyes explained the inspiration behind the conference, saying:

“Even though we’ve made great strides in recent years, the industry is still sorely lacking in women, non-binary, and people of color across all sectors. The roster for the SoundGirls Virtual Conference intentionally draws from a cross section of experts in our industry, providing greater representation by women and non-binary people and those who support them.”
