Marvel Cinematic Universe Announcements at San Diego Comic Con 2022

After several years without visiting SDCC, Kevin Feige and the company visited Comic Con again and released a lot of news and trailers. Let’s have a look at what awaits us in the future. There surely will be some great options for everyone.

Kevin Feige has announced the overall plan for the fourth, fifth, and sixth phases of the MCU. The Multiverse Saga, which began with Black Widow, will span three phases. The first (fourth in the overall timeline) will end already this fall, with the Black Panther. The second (fifth) phase will last almost two years and will include a new Ant-Man (February 16, 2023), Marvels (July 27, 2023), Guardians of the Galaxy 3 (May 4, 2023), Blade (November 2, 2023), Captain America: The New American Order (May 2, 2024), and will be closed by Thunderbolts (July 25, 2024).

The latest project is a team-up of secondary antagonists of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, most likely led by Contessa Valentina, played by Julia-Louis Dreyfus. According to the comics, you can expect John Walker (ex-Captain America), Baron Zemo, Taskmaster, the Abomination (Tim Roth from Hawk) and even Bucky Barnes as the leader of the team.

After Thunderbolts, the sixth phase will begin, which will open with Fantastic Four (November 7, 2024). Next, an unknown project awaits us in February 2025 (interestingly, nothing has been announced for February 2024), and then the Avengers will return! Avengers: Age of Ultron will be released on May 1, 2025, followed by another unannounced film in July, followed by Avengers: Endgame (Secret War) in November. Yes, immediately two parts of Avengers in half a year! This will be the end of the Multiverse Saga.

What’s More?
As for unannounced projects, it could be a sequel to Shan-Chi, The Eternals, or Spider-Man, the third part of Deadpool, and maybe a film about mutants, which, according to rumours, has already begun to be developed.

In terms of series, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will close the fourth phase, while the fifth will start with Secret Invasion with Nick Fury (spring 2023), Hawkeye spinoff Echo (summer 2023), the second season of Loki (Summer 2023), Heart of Iron (Fall 2023), as well as the series about the witch Agatha: Agatha: Sabbat of Chaos (Winter 2023/2024) and the reboot of Daredevil called Daredevil: New Birth in spring 2024. Although before that, Matt Murdock will appear in several projects.

Trailers
Fans saw trailers for the third part of Guardians of the Galaxy, where you can see Will Poulter as Adam Warlock and Chikudi Iwuji as the High Evolutionary. It also became known that the film will focus on Rocket’s past, and Maria Bakalova, known for Borat 2, will play Cosmo, the space dog.

But the first trailer of Quantumania teases the confrontation between Ant-Man and Kang, the main antagonist of the Multiverse Saga. It was shown only to Comic Con guests, and we can still see only the first poster of the upcoming picture.
