SESSION 1: In the first session recorded on January 2, Anna, Gareth and Matthew discuss working globally and in different genres of entertainment, detail differences and similarities working from culture to culture. All of the challenges and issues of working internationally.

SESSION 2: In the second session recorded on January 3, Anna, Gareth and Matthew discuss the world of show stops. How and why they have experienced show stops, how they have dealt with them (and messed them up!). What you could expect if you have to stop a show and how to keep people safe.

Meet the Presenters:

Gareth Hulance


Gareth works as an international show caller, production stage manager and show director. His company, cue2cue limited, did 60 shows in 17 countries in 2019. Some of his own Credits include, 30th SEA Games Philippines, Special Olympics 2019, Dubai World Cup Ceremonies 2017 & 18, Saudi Arabia National Day 2017 -2019, Opening & Closing Ceremonies of the 1st European Games – Baku 2015 , Dubai National Day’s 43 & 44, Grand Openings of Studio City (2015), The Parisian (2016) & MGM (2018) Casino’s in Macau, Clusters of Light (UAE & Egypt) and the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Ceremonies. Gareth has also been working in educational training for over 12 years.

Anna Robb


Anna’s 20-year work history spans Asia Pacific, the Americas, Africa, the Middle East and Europe. She has worked as a Producer and Production Stage Manager for companies such as Cirque du Soleil, Franco Dragone Entertainment Group, Christie Digital Systems and The Sydney Opera House. Anna has been employed all genres of live entertainment such as concerts, arena events, corporate events, musical theatre, plays, dance, circus, outdoor festivals and mega shows. Anna is also the Co-Founder and Managing Director for TheatreArtLife, an online platform for entertainment industry professionals. Anna has lectured on Stage Management, given speeches on show creation and management and is passionate about the evolution of the industry.

Matthew Stern


Matthew has worked on over 20 Broadway productions including: Finding Neverland, On The town, Doctor Zhivago, Side Show (revival), Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, The Little Mermaid, Wicked, The Phantom of the Opera, and The Full Monty. Plays include the Broadway productions of Death Of A Salesman with Philip Seymour Hoffman, Enchanted April with Molly Ringwald and the tours of John Lithgow’s one man show, Stories By Heart and Billy Crystal’s 700 Sundays. Other national tours include: Grease, Les Miserables, An Evening with Patti LuPone & Mandy Patinkin, as well as Mandy Patinkin’s solo concerts: Dress Casual and Diaries. Special event productions include The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Blue Man Group at the Hollywood Bowl and The Lord of the Rings Symphony Concerts. Matthew has also worked for numerous corporate event clients around the world for clients including: Google, Samsung, Facebook, Lenovo, Lexus, Volkswagen, McDonalds and many pharma companies. Matthew is on the board of directors of the Stage Managers’ Association USA, proud AEA member & founder of the Broadway Stage Management Symposium.
